Paul Hobbs Visit
Projection and Assessment of 2011 wines
During his recent visit to the winery, our consulting winemaker Paul Hobbs, together with our winemaker Mariano Quiroga, tasted our 2011 wines. The goal of this, his third visit, was to evaluate the quality and evolution of these wines, which are currently in our oak barrels. His impression, and the impression of the entire technical team, was similar to what they had thought at harvest: 2011 is an excellent year for Cafayate since, the weather being cloudier and cooler than normal, the red wines had a longer ripening cycle, which translates into higher quality of fruit, good acidity, more intense colors and better aromatic notes.
Paul was surprised by the high quality of these wines and his favorites were the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Malbec and the Tannat, which will all be part of the Laborum line.
Along with the climactic advantages, we should also mention the important advances made in the past year in the caring for our vineyards, and the improvements in winemaking techniques made by our new winemaker.

Launch of AMAUTA I 2009
We have begun to sell the newest vintage of the Amauta I, distinguished by being the first blend made by our new winemaker Mariano Quiroga with the help of Paul Hobbs, and one of the first wines made by the winery's new technical team.
It is a blend of 60% Malbec, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. The grapes come from our 12-year old vineyards in the Río Seco estate and were harvested by hand at the perfect moment of ripeness and freshness. All our vineyards have low yields and the grapes then pass through a double selection of both bunches and grapes.
Amauta is our line of blends and varietals in which the fruit shines in perfect harmony with the oak. This wine spent between 6 and 8 months in second- and third-use French and American oak barrels. Its name is an homage to the great wise man of the Incan Empire, "he who teaches to live". As such, Amauta represents the wisdom of finding a wine that achieves the perfect balance between fruit and oak. This line is completed by the following labels: Amauta II - Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot; Amauta III - Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon; Amauta Syrah and Amauta Rosado.

Participation in the Salón de Vino de Altura
For the fourth straight year the Salón de Vino de Altura was held in the Hotel Marriott Plaza on the 29th and 30th of June. Twenty-eight wineries participated and poured, once again, giving consumers in Buenos Aires a great chance to get to know more about wines from Salta. With excellent attendance, the event allowed us to introduce to those who visited us our iconic wine Porvenir 2005 as well as the new vintages of our wines from the Amauta and Laborum lines.

Bodega El Porvenir and The Arts
In the past few months we have decided to work together with institutions dedicated to promoting the arts and for this reason we are currently the exclusive winery of Doque Arte Contemporáneo, a cultural project that recently opened its new headquarters located at Armenia 1738, Palermo.
Doque is a nonprofit organization created by Paula Galli and Raúl Flores in 2002, in Barcelona, Spain, with the intention of distributing contemporary Iberian-American art projects. Beginning in May 2011, Doque changed the format of the work it has been doing at its headquarters in Buenos Aires: it now has a large storefront window onto the street, inviting all who pass to be affected by the works, and producing a distancing that obligates the viewer, from a different perspective, to stop outside and look. The exhibit will stay in the window for 6 months.
For it's opening on May 12, Doque called upon the respected artist from the Ruth Benzacar gallery Martín Di Girolamo, known for the hyperrealism of his feminine sculptures. On this occasion, those in attendance toasted with glasses of Laborum Malbec - Cabernet Sauvignon 2005.
The second exhibit was "Disciplina", by the painter Carlos Herrera, which opened last Thursday June 30. The artist received the 2011 Arte BA - Petrobras Award and is the Argentine representative in the 2011 Biennial of Istanbul. In this opening of "Disciplina", Bodegas El Porvenir de Los Andes offered the attendees glasses of its Amauta Syrah 2007.
